Tripoli Hosts Italian Design Day 2026 to Promote Sustainability and Urban Regeneration

Tripoli, Libya – June 30, 2026 – The Libyan capital, Tripoli, is hosting the Italian Design Day 2026, organized by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA), and OpportunItaly, in collaboration with the Libyan Board of Architecture.

This year’s event is held under the theme:

“Design, Sustainability and Urban Identity: Re-Designing, Regenerating Spaces, Objects, Ideas, and Relationships.”

The event aims to highlight the role of design in creating more sustainable cities, strengthening urban identity, and revitalizing public spaces. It also seeks to enhance quality of life, foster innovation, and promote the exchange of expertise between Libyan and Italian professionals in architecture, urban planning, and design.

The initiative reflects the ongoing commitment to strengthening Libyan–Italian cooperation and supporting projects that advance sustainable urban development while promoting internationally recognized best practices in the built environment.
