Libya, Algeria and Tunisia sign an agreement regarding groundwater management

Libya, Algeria and Tunisia have signed an agreement to establish a mechanism for consultation on the management of groundwater shared between them in the Northern Sahara.

The agreement was signed in the Algerian capital on Wednesday by the Algerian Minister of Irrigation, Taha Darbal, the Tunisian Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fisheries, Abdel Moneim Belaati, and the Undersecretary of the Libyan Ministry of Water Resources, Mohamed Guenidi.

During the meeting, it was agreed to form a joint working group to formulate mechanisms for establishing major joint projects and investments in priority areas and sectors.
