Tripoli – On Sunday evening, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU), Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh, attended the opening of the Al-Omran 2022 Exhibition and Forum. The event is being held at the February 17th Hall within the Tripoli Sports City, with several cabinet members in attendance, including the Ministers of Finance, Economy, and Oil.
Call for Public-Private Partnership
In his keynote speech, Dbeibeh emphasized the vital importance of the urban development sector. He stressed the need for synergy between the public and private sectors to drive national development, calling on Libyan companies and real estate developers to actively contribute to solving the country’s pressing housing challenges.
Event Highlights and International Participation
The exhibition is scheduled to run for four days, featuring a series of workshops, panel discussions, and presentations focused on advancing urban development strategies in Libya.
According to the event’s director, Ghalib Al-Qablawi, international participation is currently focused on Turkish real estate development firms and consultancy offices. This collaboration aims to facilitate the transfer of expertise and knowledge in the field to the local market.
Regional Cooperation
Addressing the absence of Tunisian institutions, Al-Qablawi clarified that it was not an intentional exclusion. He confirmed that the management is planning to host one of the upcoming sessions in Tunisia to resume and strengthen the ongoing cooperation between the two nations in the fields of architecture and engineering.
